Iron Golem Farm Designs
Iron Golem farms exploit villager gossip and panic mechanics to force golem spawns in a controlled kill chamber, yielding iron ingots and poppies passively. Design requirements changed significantly in 1.14 and again with minor tweaks in 1.16 and 1.21.
Basic Principles
A valid iron farm requires at minimum three villagers with workstations and beds, plus a zombie or other hostile mob to trigger the panic-based spawning condition. The villagers must have slept recently and must have line of sight to the threat entity for the gossip mechanic to register.
Golems spawn within a 16x6x16 area centered on the gathering point of the village. The spawn platform must be the only valid spawnable surface within that volume. Lava blades or suffocation traps positioned below the platform handle the kill.

Rates & Efficiency
A single-cell design in Java Edition produces approximately 350-400 iron ingots per hour. Stacking multiple cells vertically (each with its own villager pod and zombie scare) can increase throughput proportionally, though chunk loading constraints apply for AFK operation.
